Laser Cutting in Education Examples (Liceu Politècnic)

In April of 2016, Prof Ethan Danahy from Tufts University's Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) traveled to Barcelona to present at the international STEAM Conference. While there, he visited an innovative school in Rubi, Catalonia, Spain that has implemented an interdisciplinary makerspace (FabLearn Lab) in collaboration with Stanford University. While many different tools and technologies were available, the single device that the students appeared to be using the most, and was having the greatest impact on their personal projects, was the laser cutter. This video highlights some of the work the students at Liceu Politècnic were doing with the laser cutter, as they integrated curricular topics across subjects into their engineering design.
